Also have to agree with b.c. about Peter Sellers. Especially Being There, another one of my favorites |
Absolutely! There would be no "MAgnificent Seven" without "Seven Samurai". I so miss his work. | | | |

Other Sellers favs of mine are, After the Fox, Being There, and The Party. | The Party actually bombed when it came out. I think it's classic. Peter Sellers as Hrundi V. Bakshi. Quote:

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: Almost perfect in every facet

Rashomon: Love all Kurosowa, chose this one
Goodfellas: Scorsese at his best arguably
Unforgiven: Reinvented an entire genre
lol...it's really impossible. I could give ten more top 5 lists and never repeat a film. Nice thread...I'll bring some choice red wines btw.
p.s...what about top 5 Drama, top 5 comedy, top 5 Musicals, Animated (traditional and computer) Epic, Sci-fi, non-Hollywood, Top 5 Hitchcock, Spielberg, Disney, sport themed, courtroom, love story, western, top 5 Rob Schneider films...that could take 3 lifetimes alone lol.
Anyway, didn't mean to ramble...I'll get started on my lists Have fun | Goodfellas launched a genre. You can't forget Casino either. Quote:

Also have to agree with b.c. about Peter Sellers. Especially Being There, another one of my favorites | Kurosawa influenced so many directors. Also, see the HBO movie about Peter Sellers starring Geoffrey Rush, it was excellent. Quote:

| | | I have a grudge against Fight Club and Magnolia, they were two of my ex's favourite films and we watched them time and time again, he knew the script off by heart and often he'd say to me 'what film does this quote come from' before he'd even finished his quote I'd say Fightclub or Magnolia and I had a 50% chance of being right on my first 'guess'. | | | |
