How do you feel about the comments on your pics?

This isn't really a question about "Relationships, Discrimination, and Jealousy," but it has to do with one's feelings about others, so of all the forum headings this one seemed to me the closest.

If you have a gallery, how do you feel about the comments on your pics? Are you gratified by them or do you not much care? Those of you who have received a large number of comments on your pics, do you eventually lose interest in reading them?

Speaking for myself, I have to say that I have been hugely gratified to read the comments on my pictures, especially the ones that seemed as if some special thought went into them. (I have spent most of my life as a scrawny guy and am still socially awkward, so being thought "hot" is a comparatively recent development that I am far from being used to!) So far, I am always excited when I see that someone has posted a new comment. This has led me to start posting comments on a lot of other members' pics when I liked them, since I assume that others will appreciate them much as I do. But then I wonder if they necessarily do so.

They really boost my confidence level since i have issues with self-acceptance.

At first, I was flattered... then all of the comments started sounding the same. It's gotten annoying. Maybe with some originality... D=

I do not have a gallery........... I probably should start one with all of the pics I have of myself lol

I read all comments carefully. I keep a log of who says what, and if someone doesn't comment nicely -- or forgets to comment regularly -- I send them stale crackers in the mail.

I didn't attach too much importance to comments back when I had a gallery - I attached the photos just to prove I was who I said I was. I was somewhat flattered by compliments, but that was tempered by the knowledge that the etiquette here was "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all".

That said, the comments/compliments from people I knew from the boards meant more to me than the ones from semi-anonymous gallery surfers.

Compliments on my pics make me hard.........

I have had self-esteem and body issues since well before I entered puberty. With every year I mature and grow as a person I learn self-acceptance.

There have been about 3 or 4, 100% gay men (They know who they are) who felt the need to make horribly cruel, hateful, and rude criticisms of my pussy in my gallery comments. I wish to hell they wouldn't look.

I have made a few negative comments in gallerys but ONLY when they were obviously photoshopped or stolen from another member or porn site. I would never dream of leaving a comment that a mans cock was ugly or too small or too big.

Off Topic: I don't think it's a mistake that the people who make rude comments NEVER have a gallery or a profile. IMHO if you can't be bothered to show and tell as I do you should not be allowed into chat nor should you be allowed to post gallery comments. I t's cowardice combined with hatefulness that makes it so hurtful.

Holy crap, I'm sorry to hear that, njqt466. I think that the vast majority of posters on this forum have the sense and decency to keep their opinions to themselves when they see something that doesn't agree with their taste. But it only takes a few troglodytes to cause a lot of hurt.

It does take some courage to share a pic on our site...it's all good.

The funny thing is I often make glowing comments about the many beautiful 100% Gay men I see in the gallery. I'm not trying to convert them or anything I'm just stating my appreciation. I certainly hope I haven't grossed them out by doing so.

I always appreciate someone taking the time to leave a flattering comment.
I think we should be able to delete the trolls from our own galleries,though some would leave their comments visible so that everyone can see who they are.
