It DOES make more sense that you cum quicker on your own. I mean, you are solely focused on the task of getting off. You want it done, and you're doing everything to get it done. When you're with a partner, you are (hopefully) splitting your concentration between your pleasure and making sure they are pleased as well, probably holding back to make the experience last longer, etc... There are a lot more factors in sex. With maturbation, only one.

I definitely feel like I have more control over how quickly I can come or how long I can hold out when masturbating versus sex. I think everyone over time develops the ability to apply the kind of pressure and stroke during masturbation the way that feels absolutely best to themself. And I feel like if you masturbate considerably more than you have sex, you're essentially training your body to respond more quickly by orgasm through the specific feeling of masturbation as opposed to intercourse.

That being said, I feel like I will always last longer while having intercourse, but that doesn't mean I won't feel the same physical pleasure (or more) as when I masturbate. Masturbating all these years though has allowed me to control my orgasm more effectively during sex.

I think that wacking off is just that - to get off. You can take your time or you can hurry it up. It all depends upon what you are thinking about or viewing.
