Obsessed? Speaking strictly for myself, I have a preference for foreskin on the dicks I suck. It makes the entire exercise more interesting and it excites me tremendously.

I remember the first uncut dick I ever saw in high school PE. It belonged to a muscular Latino named Angel, on whom I had a little unrequited crush. Seeing his uncut dick between his legs just cemented the whole deal for me.

When I lived in France it was like an all-you-can eat buffet 24/7. I was in heaven.

But getting back to the original question: it's been my experience after 30 years having sex with other men that the vast majority is more fixated on size than whether or not said penis is intact, and that if there is a majority preference in the US it's for cut, not uncut cock. In all my experience, I've only met one guy who rejected me for being cut, but he was an anti-American bigot with much bigger issues anyway.

spaox, many Americans are under the impression that Brazilians are a sensual, uninhibited people who are much more open minded about sex, including sex between men. Many Americans find Brazilians exotic. However, since you've been in the states since you were a child, these may not be factors in your case.

With regards to uncut cocks, most American men are circumcised and many have never seen or felt an uncut penis. To most Americans, uncut cocks are "normal" and uncut ones look weird. (Kenyth's perspective makes more sense: uncut cocks are normal, cut ones are scarred.) Many American men and women believe that uncircumcised penises are dirty and that they look gross. Up until recently, I think many gay American men had similar attitudes. I've heard of men, both straight and gay, getting cirumcised as adults because of the negative attitudes towards being uncut.

Over the past couple of decades, gay Americans has been moving towards a more foreskin-positive attitude, and some have even developed a preference for uncut cock. For some, this preference is based on an objection to needless body modification (some would say "mutilation"), particularly when it is performed on infants who cannot give informed consent. For others, it's based on actually experiencing an uncut cock and deciding that having a foreskin really is better. For some cut guys, it's just fun to play with something different than what you've got. For me, it's all of the above.

Why are attitudes changing? It may have begun when gay porn like Bel Ami and Kristen Bjorn began featuring uncut models, as Matthew and invisibleman mentioned. The first uncut dicks I saw were in Bel Ami photo shoots, and I was fascinated. I thought they were really gorgeous, and for the first time I began to wonder what it was like to have a foreskin and to consider what I might be missing.

Also, in general, I think gay men are more open-minded than the general population, especially with regards to matters of sex and sexuality. Obviously we're more likely than straight guys to think about the variety of dicks that are out there and to be curious about dicks that are different from our own.

spaox, you say that uncut cocks don't operate differently from cut ones. Actually, they do function quite a bit differently. Kenyth does a good job describing the differences. As he pointed out, when masturbating, cut guys rub skin on the penis, creating stimulation through friction. The skin doesn't slide much, if at all. Unfortunately, friction can also cause irritation, often requiring the use of messy lubes. (I hate having to use lube. It's expensive and no lube is perfect. The ones that give the best slide tend to dry out the fastest. The ones that last long have a less sensual texture, etc. When you run out you try lotion or even vegetable oil as a substitute, but they absorb too quickly.) Friction on the penis and the need for lube can also be problems during vaginal or anal intercourse.

There are many factors to a woman's satisfaction other than her partner's penis size or circumcision status, including her feelings towards her partner, how well he communicates, how romantic he is, how responsive and attentive he is, how good his technique is, how attractive he is, etc.

It's widely recognized that many women are not sexually satisfied and many have difficulty achieving orgasm. Many women don't look forward to sex (and may even avoid it), and only do it to please their partners (who probably aren't satifsfied, either, because they can tell she's not enjoying it, and because they aren't getting as much sex as they want). This is a big problem in hetero relationships and one of the reasons those relationships fail.

There are lots of theories about why this is so, many of which focus on things like poor communication between partners, men's insensitivity and lack of attention to the woman's needs, and poor technique. All of which are probably true to varying degrees.

Women's satisfaction with regards to their partner's circumcisions status is difficult to assess. I doubt that many American women have had enough uncut partners (if any) to have formed an opinion about which is more satisfying. Most women I know base their preference on aesthetics.

Kristen O'Hara has published a theory that intercourse can be uncomfortable for women if the man is circumcised. I doubt that this possibility even occurs to most people. Wouldn't it be interesting if this turned out to be the "real" problem so many hetero couples face? Of course, much more research needs to be done.

I have been cut for approximately 3/4 of the time I was uncut! Other than the fact that my cock stays cleaner cut and looked two inches longer uncut, there has been absolutely no difference in the way my cock has been accepted by others or for that matter in the basic way it functions. One thing I will admit is that my cock needs more lube cut than it did when uncut!

It's a lot more fun to blow a guy with a foreskin than one without. With cut guys, deepthroating seems to be much more desired whereas with with intact ones, the head and the frenulum is where it's at.

Any kind of insertive sex is better with a foreskin than without, much less friction. Friction is the death of good sex, especially when you're on the larger side.

Scars really turn me off too. The rough texture and the contrast in color is really ugly.

You can j/o without lube, your glans doesn't get abraded by clothing, etc, etc, etc.

Forced circumcision is pretty sick, IMO.

I think most american guys don't ever see a uncut cock and they are very interested in how the foreskin slides over the head and how easily it pulls back. I have been stroked for long periods of time while they just watch. Oral sex is the same way. Seems they like to see what they can do with their tounges while sucking cock. And back pre aids days I knew a couple that liked getting their cut cockheads docked by mine.

I am a gay guy with a bit of a foreskin fetish in a country (Australia) where there's plenty of either sort to choose from. I can't really explain my preference. It has an aesthetic element and a functional one. I think Kenyth explains pretty well the way a foreskin works for sex. I also find foreskins hot to look at at, especially on flaccid dicks. But having said that, I don't know too many others who share my fetish and I don't think you can make the generalisation that gay men are foreskin obsessed.

I don't think it's true. I think most gay men in America prefer cut guys. Some guys post cut ony when looking for a guy, they won't even sleep with an uncut guy.
while some prefer uncut , but will go with either.
I am uncut and would never get cut, but I think that the cut penis is much more attractve looking, especially while limp .
I think some that people think that an uncut dick is dirty because they hear about smegma (which I never had)

I really doubt this is the only reason why guys are into you.

Meniscus and Witlof mentioned aesthetics and that's a big factor to me. To tie in with another interest of mine, cars, I'll call it a convertible. With top up it has one look; with the top down it has another. Two different appearances from one dick. You can't beat it with a stick! *I think there's innuendo in that.*

Aesthetics is also a major factor in my deciding upon a foreskin restoration. I'm not sexually active so the sensitivty enhancements are mostly wasted.

Note to crescendo69: How about IPSG?

I can understand that, Steve, but for me, it still boils down to a matter of choice. I have absolutely nothing against an adult male getting a circumcision if that's what he really wants. But performing that irreversible surgery on an infant is just damned near unforgivable. I truly and honestly do not see it as any different whatsoever from a parent arbitrarily deciding to permanently remove any other part of an infant's body.
