I agree partially with you, some of his scenes are just ridiculous and make me go floppy! Like when he spends more time slapping the women and spitting in their mouths than actually having sex! WTF?
I think that Rocco has influenced the latest generation of male porn stars and because there is so much porn being produced, the quest to find something original in mainstream porn, seems to be overstepping the limits of what is tasteful/acceptable.
I think most guys would like to think of themselves as the dominant male that Rocco portrays but personally, I think the violence is unesseccary and I prefer it when he sticks to just having rough sex!
