This gal I worked with decided she'd had enough of being straight, left her husband and two boys, followed some alcoholic dyke (for the purpose of this narrative, please forgive the pejorative) out to my neck of the woods and that was that.

I've known guys to do the same. I have a theory about this. Their wives quit taking care of themselves and get dumpy. When she comes home with the fuzzy perm, the guy is out of there. Sometimes the guy is still in good shape and starts dancing naked on the tables of the local gay guy joint.

Of course, sometimes it's the other way around. The guy loses his hair, grows a gut, can't get out of the La-Z-Boy anymore.

Sometimes we lose our attractiveness and the same sex looks better, or not. Sometimes a particular individual of the same sex is more attractive than a particular individual of the opposite sex, or not.

Sometimes it's who you get attention from, not who you give attention to.

Also, I forgot to say that as people get older, they are less inhibited about letting that side show, if they have that side.
