You're right! My piss always smells weird for awhile if I eat asparagus. Frosted puffed wheat (whatever the brand name is--Sugar Smacks?) makes it smell weird too.

I think you guys are skirting around the true reasons though. The natural penis has a natural odor, just like all body odors. Odors mostly arise from bacterial action. Not all bacteria are harmful. Normally skin bacteria are beneficial because they outpopulate bad bacteria.

For the most part bacteria and their biproducts wash away when we bathe, only to return a few hours later. I'm not so sure about using harsh soaps and salts inside the foreskin. Think of other mucosal tissues like the orbit of the eye, the mouth and inside the vagina. Soaps and salts work a little differently, but they kill bacteria by dehydrating them. They may dry out delicate skin and this may be harmful, especially if overused. And as many have stated, they don't mind the odor or they enjoy the odor.
