um, it shouldn't smell nasty - and certainly not as bad as you describe. normally, it's a fairly neutral saline smell, like seawater. and it should wash off in like 5 seconds - hell, i usually do it in the sink :P

either you have a weird metabolism, or else you might wanna get checked for UTIs
