Start Of School

Harry was excited, which was odd as today was the first day of school and after 8 long weeks of Australian Summer, he was as bronze as many wartime statues. Nice start. You are building the tension for some hot action.

My advice is that you work on the story in draft form as a word document. That way you can write it as a draft so you can save it and come back to it once or twice to do some editing and spell checking before you finally post the story.

I found it really hard to type my stories right onto the LPSG site without the benefit of one or two edits.

Once you have the story close to where you are happy then you can cut and past the document into the LPSG site and do one more final edit before pressing "post".

You have the beginnings of a good story. Keep going.

I notice that Aussie slips back and forth between metric and imperial.

Here in Canada, those of us of a certain age are used to going back and forth between these two temperature scales.

I grew up on Farhenheit then learned Celsius in my late teens. Now I have to use a metric conversion table to refresh my memory about F. temperatures.

30 degrees celsius is about 86 degrees F.

I knew I went to college for a reason.... If it's 30 degrees Celsius, you multiply by 1.8 (30 * 1.8 = 54), then add to 32 (the freezing point in Fahrenheit), and you get 86 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a pretty hot day!

I agree with thuf and JJ's advice about story ideas and drafting beforehand. Other than that, you're on a good path. Always nice to read a story set in high school. It makes me think it may happen to me some day

F = 9C/5+32
