coming from africa, where my parens were missionaries, i grew up hearing about the sin of masturbation. and for my thesis in biblical councelling school, i did that as my research question: as a christian, do you masturbate? out of 463 asked, i got a 85% yes, and a 10% none of your business and the rest responded in a furor that i could even dare to stain the flock with questions like that!!

Here is how I know masturbation is a sin.

First, let me start by saying that I have a Bible concordance (For the King James Version of the Bible) and it's very very very large... you can imagine... it has every word ever written in the bible noted and points to the Book, Chapter, and Verse in which it is found. So I was curious one day, I had an epiphany where I humbled myself before God and I prayed, "Lord, God, please, I give my life to you, do with it what you will. I don't want any part of sin any more. Keep me away from sin, and keep sin away from me. Give me knowledge and wisdom and guide me down the path you have set for me. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ I pray to you. Lord, also, I honestly don't know if masturbation is a sin, so help me, if it is a sin, then tell me, just come down here and tell me, show me a sign, anything. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I love you, Amen."

That's the prayer I said, or very close. It's okay to ask God for ANYTHING (And you'll be AMAZED when you do... just trust me). So I opened the concordance and I looked for the word, "masturbate" and it was not mentioned in the bible at all. So I looked up, "sex" and that really wasn't anywhere, I was surprised. I ended up going through looking at all of the different words I could think of that referred to self-stimulation and I couldn't find it... I eventually gave up... I figured, it's probably not a sin, I've never had anyone tell me that it's a sin and God didn't tell me miraculously so it's not... (conscience is a subject of another discussion)

THE VERY NEXT DAY...

I'm sitting at the computer and my dad is an avid car fan, his car show was on and he was about to begin taping it... For whatever reason, and you can come up with whatever explanation you can, but my dad stopped on a the Trinity Broadcast Network and it was a Catholic Priest giving a sermon. I cannot remember his name! I'll ask my dad tomorrow, I told him this story LOL. But anyways long story short the priest pointed at the television and said, "Masturbation is a sin!"

...And my heart dropped. I prayed that prayer and the very next day God told me.

The reason it's peculiar, not just that my dad had no reason to be watching this priest instead of his car show, not that I happened to be at my dads or happened to be downstairs on the computer at the same time that he said that, not that he pointed at me and YELLED IT LOUD AND CLEAR... But that this priest never talks about these types of things, my dad says he didn't even know at the time and found it miraculous that he was watching it, he said that this priest is a major preacher and he has never heard him talk about sex or anything like that...

Miracle's are how God communicates to us, to strengthen our faith.

There's a lot of sin in the world, and we ALL sin. We ALL fall short of God's glory, all of us are sinners and deserve to burn in hell because if God is a fair judge, he must do so. However, Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins, he was God incarnate, and only through Him can we ever hope for salvation. He came down here and suffered so that he could save us, through his blood alone. Some say he's just a nice guy or a prophet, well what kind of "nice guy" proclaims to be God? A lunatic? What kind of lunatic never sins and performs miracles? The kind that really believes he is God? Well what makes any other prophets any different? They never resurrected from the dead. How do we know the bible is accurate? It is the MOST historically accurate piece of literature (any agnostic scholar will tell you this) in the history of mankind, it is supported by other works of literature from scholars and leaders of pagan nations, people sought to disprove Christianity and in doing so they fulfilled biblical prophecies... The evidence is there, you just have to believe and look. Please talk to me if you want to have a happy life, I can tell you my testimony, from the bottom of my heart, it is true, God is real and he wants us to be happy and to live for eternity in heaven with Him. All we have to do is believe. It's so simple. What have you got to lose? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, this I promise you. You have only your perpetual afterlife to gain.

i was raised christen and i went to catholic school for most of my education but im not sure if id consdier myself a catholic i mean i try and be a good person and do on to other as id have them do on to me i dont attened chruch regularly but yet i try and do what i know is right im not out to save the world just to add a little bit of light to it aswell im a virgin so i guess that kinda fits

im not sure how god could juge masterbation as a sin i mean isnt everything god creates good and holesome i mean if god invented us and all aspects of us then he had to invent masterbation aswell and the orgasim so why would god have invented it if it was evil
