Size queens can be some nasty bitches and people, in general, are sad.
That being said, the sad reality is that these stereotypes cut both ways: People at once expect you to be huge and are secretly hoping that you aren't (it IS a myth afterall). It's a tough place to be in.
I have played with men that were lager than me, and smaller than me, I have two close buds (both white) who are much thicker than I am (7" and 7.75" around). Instead of getting all sadiddy about it, we treat is as a great thing that brings us closer in the face of stereotypes.
I will say this, there is nothing like fucking the living daylights outta some stud that thinks he's the hottest shit walking because his dick is bigger than yours or because he thinks you need 11" to make a person feel good.
I think that one thing you (and all men), myself included) can do is to try to reach a point of true total comfort with yourself. When you walk through life pleased with what you have and are, people can't make you feel uncomfortable with thier issues.
