Damn good advice all around. When I first bottomed, I found that sitting on it was best (I opened myself up with lube and my fingers first). Once you have sat on it, are totally relaxed and feeling comfy--well, the possibilities are endless. He can flip you, put you legs above your head, bend you over the bed or dresser, etc.
