As a Doctor Who fan for over thirty years I've been desperately disappointed by Toshwood. It's cheesy, predictable and (sometimes) badly acted - and Burn Gorman is the worst. He was dreadful in Bleak House and isn't any less wooden in this. Some episodes have been exceptional but many of them have been just plain poor - or even laughable. Including the odd 'f' word for dramatic effect (yeah, right!) has been downright puerile - it would fit okay if the characters swore generally and used other swear words but it appears to be the only one that they know.

Even The Sarah Jane Adventures was better than some episodes of Torchwood!

Ok, so I just caught me first episode of Torchwood concerning an Afro-British cyber woman hellbent to upgrade all of humanity. I know, like two years behind, right? I live in Puerto Rico, I'm lucky to even get Torchwood!

Anyway... Here in the Caribbean I can only catch Torchwood on the People & Arts channel. Euro-Brit-Amero-progaming for the Spanish world (in English with subtitles in Spanish.) I'm very afraid that they either will not air or will edit the episode with the famous kiss between the two fellahs'. It happens! Latinos are SOOOoooo behind with the gay thing.

Can someone please let me know in which episode this kiss takes place so I can try and download it.

Funny You should ask. I just watched that episode You mention myself last night. It's ep 0104 "Cyberwoman". I thought this ep was fantastic. I kinda have a thing for Gareth David-Lloyd, so it was nice to see an episode featuring him. The Captain Jack character actually kissed Gareth's Ianto character in this episode....but it was odd cos it's never addressed. After Owen kisses Gwen, she pointedly questions him as to why he kissed her....yet Ianto never questions Jack. Can anyone explain? The kiss vidcaps between Jack and Ianto posted earlier in this thread are different, so I guess they smooch again later in the series (?).
I'm in the U.S., and we're only just getting the first season of "Torchwood" here. Can any UK members tell me if S2 has shown there yet? I watched 0104 from a download of the British telecast (we're not up to that one here in the States yet), so I dunno if the Jack/Ianto kiss will be cut here (it's gonna air here this weekend - I'll letcha know...). I take it the kiss was censored where You are Wrey?

HOW can we get the uncensored versions of Torchwood and Dr Who here in the US? I know the DVDs are available via the BBC site but does anyone know if they are censored???

I think the Torchwood series is starting out slow.. we have just started them on BBC America as you mentioned... I am watching one season of Dr Who on BBC A and the other on Sci Fi.

The pic of Captain Jack and Ianto snogging isn't until episode 13. There is a better kiss between Captain Jack and the real Captain Jack (long story) in episode 12.

It seems they are really playing up the bi-sexual angle in Torchwood (a good thing in my opinion). It would seem that they all are up to shagging each other, of either gender. At first I was a bit surprised when it was revealed that Ianto had a girlfriend before, but then he and Captain Jack started up a thing. At first it appeared to be just about sex, friends with benefits, but the story line seems to be taking it further. And when facing certain death, Own propositions both Ianto and Toshi -- and let us not forget Toshi's lesbian adventure.

It was made quite clear from the get go (and the Dr. Who series) that Capt. Jack is not particularly interested in the gender, so much as the action/passion (he'll shag anything cute). Though now they are portraying actual feelings for his conquests/lovers, though he still is pretty much a slut, a lovable cad, but nonetheless rather sexually carnivorous (and not always discerning).

In my opinion, it seems the writers (who some argue are pretty bad -- an argument I have to agree with) are trying to portray gender as unimportant to the person. Kind of like Queer as Folk meets Sex in the City in a sci-fi setting.

Guilty pleasure thing, damn right, I love it!

Well - I know this thread is about the guys, but having seen more than a full season of Torchwood (and having bought S1 on DVD), here's my 2 cents' worth about the whole cast:

JOHN BARROWMAN - The reason I started watching to begin with. I was familiar with him before Torchwood & always fancied him. Still do. He may be the weakest actor on the show, but he's total eye candy.
EVE MYLES - Hot. No woman wears a pair of tight jeans better than Eve. Jack has a line on one ep about her having all the right curves in all the right places. He's right.
BURN GORMAN - Some here have dissed his acting. I've never seen him in anything but Torchwood, but based on only this show I'd say he's an OK actor. ...But hottie factor wise, he does nill for me. He's the only one of the main cast I honestly don't find remotely attractive.
NAOKO MORI - Also hot. ....In that totally shagable braniac chick sorta way.
GARETH DAVID-LLOYD - I came to the show cos of J.B., but it's D.G.L. I'm now totally smitten with. Sweet enigmatic Ianto. He looks great in a suit, but I'd far prefer to see him out of it.
Does there exist a proper shirtless photo of this man? His appearance on "Casualty" hints at a hairy chest {sigh}....see attached.
