Lost in VA near VT

hoping to find lots of GOOD friends in the VA area.

I'm getting old, I guess, but VA is nowhere near VT is it?

VT = Virginia Tech, not Vermont in this case.

We get that confusion a lot in Blacksburg -- people try to sell items in the local newsgroups who want us to come pick up their items . . . in Burlington.

Glad I didn't go to school there. I know the campus is lovely, but the area is just a little too BB for me. My partner took lots of photos when he taught at a week-long conference there a couple of years back.

Is there a "Vermont Academy"? That would make the phrase "lost in VA near VT even more confusing, not to mention possibly gramatically and geographically scrambled.
