The Erect Penis Survey (beta testing version)

Hello everyone :-)

I hope the picture downloaded properly (i couldn't seem to get it to show up in the preview window so i couldn't tell if your see it or not), this will take a small amount of explaining so please bare with me.

penis's are like faces, everyone is unique. I am interested to see what shapes and sized there are and how common different characteristics are, is there a more common shape? length? or angle? I thought about all the dicks i had seen and come up with a basic set of questions.

This is why I am posting the survey initially to see if people think it is a good idea, this (see picture) is my beta survey for people to have a look at and see if i have missed any major penis types out. I want to be as inclusive as possible. When I am finished I hope to do some basic stats on my results, and when i say basic i mean basic... as I only have excel and not SPSS or Mini-tab (stats packages), but if anyone is interested in doing further stats analysis on my results i would happily make the data freely available.

If it is popular maybe i could do further follow up ones. remember this one is only to see what people think, this is NOT the real survey, that one will be an amended version of this.

I have sent up a hotmail account where people can email me their results and if they so wish photo's of their dicks either as proof or to show me there is some fantastic penis shape i have not mentioned in the survey.

On to the explanation for the survey.

-- This is an anonymous survey so please don't lie about length and girth, measure as stated and put yourself in the correct category. If you add a few inches here and there it could really affect the results of the survey. There really is no need to lie, no one will know if you have a 3" or a 12" dick.

-- This is an ERECT penis survey. You need to asses each category based on your erect penis, your flaccid one may fall into a different category, but please only put down the answer that most closely resembles your erect penis. Flaccid penises can vary a huge amount and will be the subject of a later survey.

3. Thinnest at the base becoming wider as it goes to the head
4. Widest in the middle of the shaft

D) HAIR
1. No hair on the shaft
2. A little hair at the base of the shaft
3. Hair traveling up to 2" up the shaft
4, Hair over much of the shaft

E) VEINS
1. No veins
2. Some veins
3. a lot of veins
4. One major vein
5. thin dark veins

F. DIRECTION (while standing looking straight down at your penis)
1. points to the left greatly
2. points left slightly
3. straight forward
4. points right slightly
5. points to the right greatly

G. SKIN
1. cut (circumcised)
2. skin pulled back with some wrinkling down the shaft
3. skin pulled back with a little puckering just behind the head
4. corona covered by skin
5. skin covers half of glands
6. skin covers all but the tips of penis
7. skin covers glands completely
8. skin covers glands completely and there is overhang of skin
9. skin pulled tightly over glands unable to retract

H. LENGTH (lay a tape measure/flexible ruler over the TOP of your penis, measure from where the base of your penis leaves your body and stop where the tip of your penis is)

I. Circumference (around the widest part of your shaft measure with a piece of string or tape measure, wrapping the string/tape until you go all the way around the shaft)

J. ANGLE (when stood what is the angle of your erection)
1. Straight up
2. mostly up
3. around 45 degrees
4. straight out
5. slightly down
6. down
7. curves up then down

So what do people think? would this be an interesting project to start? Does anyone know anything about stats? Anyone got any better ideas about how to do a survey like this? I think it might be interesting to see what the most common shapes and sizes are. Plus i might be able to find out if any characteristics are linked. When i get the survey finalized i envision people emailing the hotmail account i have set up with their results so i can add them to a data base easily. Example, mine would be A.3 B.1 C.1 D.4 E.2 F.3 G.1 H.3 I.3 J.3

Ok, I'll have a go! (Never studied my penis in this much detail before!)

A.1 - Shaft wider than head of penis - because I'm uncut there's it actually looks like the head is a little wider than the shaft, but rolled back the shaft is bigger.

B.1 - same length and width

C.2. Thickest at base and narrowing towards the head - a little like a doorstop (for ease of opening!)

D.3 Hair travelling up to 2" up the shaft

E. - A mix of 4 and 5. Got one thick vein running up and curling round the shaft and foreskin and some thinner veins

F.3 Straight forward

G.8 Skin covers glans completely and there is an overhang

H.4 6 to 7 inches. Just over 6.5 mark

I.3 5 to 6 inches

J.3 45 degrees

I like the idea behind this, I'll submit some data for you. I actually just got mini-tab with my stats book for class so maybe I can either send it to you or learn how to use it and help you out.

You won't get anything useful from this exercise. Your plea for honest data sounds reasonable but there's no way you can verify that it's what you're getting. And I can see that you are seriously in the dark about statistics. You can't just have a software package do the work for you or you'll get crap. See the 2004 US election projections for a high-profile example of statistical crap.
