Being a grower, I 'fit in' with everyone else in the locker rooms throughout school. As an adult I saw some size survey information in a magazine (pre internet boom) and measured myself. I thought I was average or slightly higher than average in length, but when my first sexual girlfriend said "Wow!" I had to ask why. She said I was among the biggest she'd seen. I later learned that she had significant 'experience' and that made me feel better that she just wasn't trying to complement me.

When the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. girlfriends basically said the same thing, I finally accepted that I was above average. ;) I didn't realize my girth was much higher than average until I saw some surveys that had that data.
