I have found though that women who like porn prefer 'erotic stories' and most guys want to see the moving images. I believe it has to do with men being more visual and women craving the emotional, and wanting to know feelings. Although most erotic literature is badly written...

My ex was into erotic stories though...although she didn't want me to be looking at porn and whenever I would put it up (google images) as a joke she'd go 'Wonderboy! Turn it off!' etc...

I actually like these themes as well. I simply argue that Rocco does not illustrate these themes. he illustrates degredation, abuse, and physical danger.

I am actuallly surprised to hear that some of the ladies like porn. When I watch porn I have a hard time imagining that any female would enjoy watching the vast majority of the stuff. The men are butt ugly for the most part, you see alot of limp or semi-hard dicks and most of the time there is no connection between the couples and it looks very fake. This is what irks me the most. I know I will sound like a chick when I say this, but I can't get into a porn scene if there is not chemistry between the couple.

yep, you pretty much nailed why I don't like most porn. that's why I typically go for gay porn or amateur, since it's less plastic and boring. and I have seen more genuine caring, passionate kisses, gentle touching, and real orgasms between gay men than I have ever seen in any mainstream het porn.

I think that Rocco has influenced the latest generation of male porn stars and because there is so much porn being produced, the quest to find something original in mainstream porn, seems to be overstepping the limits of what is tasteful/acceptable.
I think most guys would like to think of themselves as the dominant male that Rocco portrays but personally, I think the violence is unesseccary and I prefer it when he sticks to just having rough sex!

I'm very ambivalent on Rocco's movies. He's done some great scenes for American movies. U.S. companies like Vivid won't have his aggressive stuff in them, although almost all of these are older movies. (I strongly recommend Chameleons with Ashlyn Gere and Diedre Holland.) And some of his scenes in Europe are fun, but to find them you have to wade through a lot of disturbing stuff.

I find this with a lot of the Euro porn I've seen. Yes, there are fewer implants and fresher faces, and the production value is often very good. But a lot of the women clearly don't want to be doing porn. If the actress doesn't look like she's enjoying herself (pretending or not) then I can't get into it. Some of the Euro babes don't look happy during the scene at all and it's borderline rape on camera. I've read more than once of European porn stars moving to the U.S. because they're treated far better here.

I'm sure there are American porn actresses that don't want to be in the business too. But to show her not enjoying the sex and obviously wishing it was over is another thing altogether. There's a strong misogynistic streak in Euro porn that I find myself avoiding.

Most mainstream porn sucks. The women don't seem like they're enjoying themselves, they have bad boob jobs, and the women are all the camera ever focuses on. That said, I'm not a big porn-watcher but I have seen some straight porn I liked - when both people look like they're actually enjoying themselves, and if the director can break away from the plastic woman for a second to focus on the built, hung stud doing her senseless, well, it's not entirely without the potential for enjoyment . Most porn falls short though. And, as I've said on all the other porn threads, I can't stand facials. I don't understand why every scene has to end with a facial, or who gets off on that, but it's a huge turn-off for me.

Well, I guess Anne did go the more traditional bodice-ripper route with some of the dialogue, but I'm guessing that was to keep it from being presented as outright "smut" (maybe her publisher had a clause about how many times she could use the p-word?). As in most porn films I've seen, I'm happy to forget the dialogue if the action is hot enough.
