I met John Holmes in early 1974. Long story as to how, why and what happened and not relevant to this post. When I met him I had never heard of him and had no idea who he was. Only later and years later did I become more aware of his "career". Quite a few people were in the room when I met him. I was brought there by a couple and a girl I knew at the time. The estimate of John Holmes at around 10" is about what I remember. And if I had to guess, I would say about 7" around or so. It has been a long time but it was my first and only visit to such a setting, and I did not stay long.
Several years ago a lady I was seeing at the time showed me her "John Holmes" model dildo. She measured it and it was much larger than my recollection both in actual measurement and in what I remember. I told her of my having met Holmes and my recollection, and she commented that she had wondered about that because he had videos of him from various stages of his career and the advertising on the boxes went from 12", to 13" to 14" over the years, and the dildo was about 12". Even the 12" was an exageration from what I saw. So from my experience, at least one of those "real life size" dildos has been greatly exagerrated. I don't think the FTC has ever monitored the truth in advertising laws in regard to the porno industry...LOL.
