Open Locker Room Showers

Was out of town this weekend and went to a local YMCA. The showers were all open(3 sets of showers), had a steam room and sauna. There were several well hung guys, much bigger than me, largest probably 9 inches soft. What I found weird was how many guys actually got a hard on while showering. It seemed that some of the very well hung guys would just hang out in the showers forever. Showers also seemed to stay crowded when they were there. One time there was a guy in his mid twenties who was about 6 inches soft and there must have been 4 other guys in the shower with a hard on. I kinda found this weird.

So my question is for you big guys, when showering do you notice other guys getting hard often. And also if you work out in a gym often do you see other guys getting a hard on in the shower. Is this common? Seemed like a lot of gay or bi guys were at the Y and no one seemed like it was a big deal to have a hard on while showering. Did not ever see any touching or anything like that but a ton of looking.

As there are only men in the group showers and locker room, there is really no need for modesty or shyness.

I've been working out in gyms and showering in open showers for over 20 years and have never seen a guy with an erection in the shower room. I understand the statement that there is no need for modesty but it does seem a bit weird to get an erection in a public shower.

Your description fits the YMCAs and a couple of other clubs I've been a member of and I've come to the conclusion that where there are naked guys together, erections happen. This is especially true in the heath clubs where working out and body shows are peppered with the accompaning increase in testosterone. Are you inclined to make more visits?

You know Jason, that is the one thing that causes me to get fully hard in the shower! At my gym, which is a serious free weight gym. There are no pools, steams, sauna,etc. Just basic locker rooms with showers. The wet area is in stalls but when you get out of the water area you are in a communal space to dry off or hang up your towel while in the shower.

Rarely, but occassionally you'll see a guy get out of the shower showing fuller but not a full erection. I my self find after working out and getting under the refreshing water, seem to hang a bit fuller on occassion. No one seems to notice or pay attention.

I believe that our own egos make everyone think in our minds all eye, we are being watched by them. In my opinion, most times get over your fine self. I have never seen blatant staring and stalking at the gym. Seems to happen in more in prudish bible belt areas or something. Not in the cities I have lived in through out the country. Or is it wishful thinking?

Um, no, not quite. I'm in L.A. too, and belong to 2 gyms--one a trainer's gym, the other is the standard somewhat high-end gym (both in "straight" areas of town)--and I've been totally checked out at both of them.
