There is a very specific reason that people leave stories unfinished. This reason is a very important reason. It will blow your mind when you hear the reason. You would think to yourself "why did I never think of that before?" Lives have been changed by knowing the reason.

The reason people don't finish their stories is...

......To be continued......

yes yes yes... I know I started part 3a of Embarassed by teen and have been promising some more.

Most of the time I get a few minutes, start writing, and then move on to something else.

I promise... i'll finish it

You know Bigboy.

People aren't slaves. Most of the people who submit stories also have this thing called "LIVES".. maybe you have heard of them??

It is great when stories get done, but people have to realize that not everyone has the time to sit down for a few hours and hammer out a dirty tale, just so others can beat off to it.

The stories will get done.

I can agree with people have lives, but sorry I say if they can't finish the story, dont' start it. It's not that there are stories that aren't finished. It's that there are so many stories that aren't finished.

And the unfinished stories are becoming more like SPAM. Numerous and Annoying.

Agree completely. I DO appreciate all the hard work that goes into writing a story, but if the writer would just be kind enough to wait until they DO have time to finish the story before posting,it would save the viewers the frustration of going weeks or months (or FOREVER) between segments AND it would also take off any *self imposed* pressure the writer feels to get it done while living their lives.

Life happens dude. I can't count the amount of times that I've started something with the best intentions and not finished it. We can't beat up the authors for that.

Maybe we could do what JettaMatt did. Pick up a story where it left off!

It'd be harder than whining, but more productive.

humbly,
dukey.

Of course life happens, that's why the suggestion of not posting a story until it's complete and your life *has happened* seems to be the best solution IMHO.

just because someone is frustrated doesn't make it a whine. I think its a fair point. If it were something you were interested in and then someone disappeared for months on end during a story you were reading, you wouldn't be wondering what was up ?

My comments weren't directed at any one person, just a general statement.

what he said...i do understand as well that the authors have lives...but a lot of them when they post a part of their story or chapter or whatever say they already have more written and are seeing if "anyone likes it or wants more or whatever their excuse is"
i'd appreciate if they'd just post all they have and leave it out there and not post 1 part at a time unless that's the way they're writing it. otherwise, this becomes television which is the reason im reading in the first place so i don't have to worry about lame commercial breaks.
