Ummm...aren't lesbians gay and therefore included under the term 'gay'? So isn't it a redundant concept like...."Coins & nickels" or "farm animals & cows"? Think about it.


Another one: "giving 110%" or any percentage over what one could give since 100% IS ALL YOU CAN GIVE. If you can give more, it wasn't 100%.

I think that removing 'lesbian' from that phrase risks reproduding patriarchal notions of subsuming female distinctness and female experience within a male-centred term, since 'gay' is commonly taken to mean 'gay men' by many people.
