Creepiest movie scenes

I figured we could use another non-political topic this weekend. I ran across this article: clickey - it has video clips to most of them, but the scenes they picked our: "Psycho" - the shower

is part of a discussion in the Et Cetera, Et Cetera forum that includes topics on Off-topic postings, current events, rants and raves....

I figured we could use another non-political topic this weekend.

I ran across this article: clickey - it has video clips to most of them, but the scenes they picked our:

"Psycho" - the shower scene
"The Exorcist" - the white creepy face that flashes during Father Karras' dream
"Texas Chainsaw Massacre" - the chase through the brush (woods)
"Carrie" - the bloody hand reaching out from the grave at the end
"The Shining" - the ghostly dead twins wanting Danny to play with them
"Lost Highway" - some ghostly looking dude that walks up to Bill Pullman's character to tell him that he is in his house - somehow being in two places at once (I haven't seen this movie, so I'm not sure what they are talking about)
"The Ring" - when the little wet girl crawls out of the TV

I have to agree with the Ring creepy scene as being one of the freakiest and the other that gets me (not listed) is in the 2000 version of the Exorcist when she is walking up the stairs on all fours and bent over backwards.

What's everyone else's favorite creepy scene(s)?

Jacobs Ladder - Tim Robbins being wheeled along a grimey passage-way with all kinds of mentally disturbed freaks scampering about and staring at him - flash images of leather masked man in a box, head flailing uncontrolably. Freaky.

Oh yeah, Amityville Horror (the original one) - Quiet and scary room. Whispering voice says " Get out" Then bellows "GET OUT!"

Misery - when Kathy Bates hobbled poor James Caan. Ewwww, it still hurts!

The first hour of the Mothman Prophecies scared the shit out of me. I stepped out the theater like "damn, I'm now noticing all these pairs of red lights."

The end scene of "Apocalypse Now Redux", where Martin Sheen kills Brando by hacking him with the machete. You don't see much of it, but the mystic make-up, the music and lighting makes it really creepy.

Her name is Samara and she hates it when we call her "the little wet girl". I'm not having her interrupt Law & Order tonight.....

Creepiest scene: The ending to the move Saw, ..... I won't say it b/c I sure someone still wants to go see.... but just know, it's creepy.

The Beguiled with Clint Eastwood. I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't seen it.

Rent this flick!

Henry - portrait of a serial killer, where they break into a family's home and video tape the attack...awful.

I thought the creepiest bit of that film was the doll on the tricycle - I thought the rest of the movie was kinda meh, but that bit was freaky as a motherfucker. And that scene alone (and the general concept of the whole film) has ensured that I'm going to see the sequel tomorrow :freak:

The bit where the blood jumps out of the petrie dish in The Thing always gets me... oh and the bit where the head sprouts legs and scuttles away. In fact, just the whole of the film is a lesson in creepiness and paranoia.

Oh, and get that film!. It's fantastic, and very "shivers up the spine" all the way through. Especially the bit where the guy gets his forehead impaled on the corner of his glass coffee table.

OK?

I had to go seriously out of my way to find that movie! I loved it .I think it is the song at the beginning that really hits you. Hell hath no fury..... I also like the scene in Sixth Sense when Bruce Willis finally realizes he isnt in Kansas any more....The final scene of Phantom of the Opera when they show the close up of the rose on the tomb...
