| | | As much as I hate to give Alabama any more negativity than it already has, Hank Erwin, Republican Alabama senator, claims that hurricane Katrina and other storms that battered the Gulf Coast were God's judgment of sin.
"New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast have always been known for sin, gambling and wickedness," Erwin said. A former conservative talk-radio host and now a media consultant and Alabama senator from Montevallo, Alabama, he believes the storms are punishment from God.
Televangelist Pat Robertson stated earlier that Katrina might be linked to God's judgement concerning legalized abortion.
Let's hope San Francisco doesn't have the big earthquake everyone says is coming one day. Preachers will have a field day saying "I told you so!"

Why didn't the Senator tell us about the inpending hurricanes last year while we had time to repent from our wicked ways? Or did he hear this message from God AFTER the hurricanes hit.

| | | She COULD have waited till all the homos were feathered up for the festivities and killed them all in one fell swoop. I've never read any passage of the Bible that indicated that God was angry at the indigent. Perhaps the fine senator is insinuating that God is far too stupid to orchestrate and exact revenge.
Jesus, are there REALLY people out there dumb enough to buy into this crap? THIS is the stuff that makes me ashamed to be an american.- lower case for good reason.

Why? George I was widely criticized for the federal response following Hugo; Bro Jeb got hit with all those hurricanes in Florida last year; and God shortened George II's vacation with Katrina. Sheesh, didn't he/she realize Dubya wanted to be President so he could get all those vacation days?

Surely you jest, Jana. No one in America would use natural calamaties to advance his or her cause or make money. After all, we are a righteous nation.
