ifwinterends: actually. the dictionary definition of homophobia mentions contempt. which is far different from fear, and leans more towards hate (if you ask me). being a homosexual black (not fully, but part) male, i've come in contact with MANY homophobic heterosexual black males.

besides, what is hatred but a mask of some underlying fear anyway?
