I was reading this interesting topic and it brought back a memory that's still vivid 30 years later; I was in seventh grade, had just gone through puberty, and after gym we all took showers. Seeing a coach naked has never really appealed to me, but then again, they arent exactly lookers OR the nicest people where I am. Never seen it, glad I won't either! The school is too poor to afford more than 2 semesters or PE per student! Isn't that sad? I personally don't care, doesn't effect me, but to others, I know they are outraged. | | | |

In High School, my wrestling coach would some times, not regularly, shower with the team after a match. Now that I think about it, just the home matches, never the away's. Never seemed strange, odd or weird. We just hated it because we had to behave ourselves, not that we ever got much of a chance to get out line, since the coaches office was right across the hall leading to the locker room, which was wide open to the glass windows in their office. | | | |

A friend of mine who used to teach high school math and was also a basketball coach in the 60s and 70s told me that it was sort of an unwritten rule at his school that the coaches were to dress, shower, and just in general be around in the lockerroom with the students naked in a casual kind of way. He had a few funny "inside" stories, but that is another thing.
