carolinacurious: This one has been all over the blogosphere and I really figured it was old news until I saw TAG's political test posting. I have a LOT of problems with that test although it's fine as entertainment. I've also hesitated to post it because of the last site I posted my results on, I was so outside the average of the site that it was used as a cudgel against me from that moment on.
I've always been a bit suspicious of any of these tests. There was a famous Libertarian one years ago (and is probably still floating around) that had almost everyone who took it being libertarian.
This test isn't perfect either, although I do agree with what Freddie was saying on the other thread in that the WAY you interpret some of the difficult to interpret questions says something about you as well; I just don't think that other test is done well enough for this to come into play.
Anyway, many people have taken this one, you can google "political compass" and find all matter of discussion and info about it. It was really hot before the election, I see that they've updated the site; back then it was pretty interesting to see just how close GW and Kerry were (Kerry isn't on it anymore)[EDIT: actually it is still there just in a different place, I'd link to it but it's easy enough to find and it's important that you take the test before you know too much about the way that it is scored.] . Anyway, it's a cool test - should be good for some discussion around here and it's also a pretty cool website as well. Hope you find reading all this to be worth it.
