Do you get hit on at the gym?

Maybe next time some stranger tells me "Nice dick." I can remember to stutter, "Thanks." I am so shocked when this happens that the brain and vocal cords shut down. I guess for some that

I guess for some that is like saying, "Nice pecs."

I seldom go to the gym without friends so I can avoid being hit on.

I kind of like the attention if someone is staring at me in the gym. Its kind of a turn on and i just store up the horniness and take it home with me. If someone says "nice dick" I just say thanks.

Interesting to me is that many of the men doing the staring and oggling in gyms, as well as popping boners or gently massaging their crotches are, for all intents and purpose, straight. In fact, I think most of the guys who engage in public cruising or tea rooms tend to be straight men on the way home to their wives or girlfiends.

I think you definitely have the right adea, indianaman_04. A compliment should be accepted as such and thanks given, regardless of what part of the body is appreciated. I think, usually, eye contact will be made and in more times than not words exchanged, but even if these connections haven't been made, a thank you is necessary.

I've had a couple of strangers at the gym ask me how thick my dick is, I think because I'm a short guy and at times it's noticeable. It doesn't offend me and I consider their curiosity a compliment. If there happens to be an ulterior motive behind the question, I think this can be handled satisfactory without any problems.

I had my first "one night stand" at the gym. I'd been cruised before and never had done anything, but one night I am leaving and this guy stops me outside the gym door. He is complimenting me and acts like he's known me for ever. He gives me a number, we meet for dinner, I take him back to my place and screw around. He called me later but I didn't want anything more. Now that I am more mature, I shuold have turned him into a "F" buddy-booty-call. I didn't realize then how "in control" or the power that I could have being a top :) Live and learn :)

I’m going to answer the question and then pose on of my own.

I have had other men check me out both in the gym and in the locker room. When I do not check them out it seems that they usually pick up on it. I have only been outright hit on 2, or maybe 3 times in a locker room and was happily clothed each time.

I refuse to tune out the rest of the gym. While I am not there to socialize, I have met a few interesting acquaintances, and there are at least a couple of people who I now know well enough to say hi to each time and have a short conversation about the weather when I see them. While they are not friends in the strictest sense of the word, it is nice to have a few people to talk with.

Now for the question: Is there something about tea rooms that I do not know about? I ran across a fellow in Dallas last year who was beyond gay and who worked in a tea room. Now I read “I think most of the guys who engage in public cruising or tea rooms tend to be straight men.” I have never been to a tea room and as such do not know what goes on there, but I am now assuming that it is more than sipping tea.

Someone also in this thread mentioned something about "tea rooms".
I really did'nt think there were many tea rooms around in the U.S. or considered it a cruisey spot to hit.

Tea room = gay argot for a men's restroom. A tea room queen is a gay man who cruises men's restrooms for sexual partners.

I could never figure out the etymology of "tea room". All I can think of is T as in toilet.

Thanks for the clarification. It seems that the conclusion I drew was wrong. The fellow I met in Dallas actually did work in a tea room and had hosted a Baptist Ladies club there a few hours before I was talking to him. I think I’m a little naive when it comes to certain terminology and what is really being said.

I've been hit on by the better majority of the women where I work out, strictly a fitness gym, and I have dated one or two of them. The men however, are a very different story. This one bodybuilder(don't ask me why HE was there) was cruising the joint, and made no effort to conceal the fact that he was gay by the way he blatantly walked to guys during sets, and began talking to them. Well, he finally cruised 'round to me, which was an wanted eventuality, and began his routine. He kept dropping subtle hints aobut needing a "new partner for secret workouts" and just wouldn't quit no matter how hard I tried to dissuade him. Finally, during his last solicitation, I got pissed, and resonated, "HI! 'I'M STRAIGHT,AND AM NOT INTERESTED IN YOU, SEE YOU!!" Well long story short, he turned beet red, and left me and the rest of gym alone.

Sometimes men and even some women ( usually older) don't understand that your not interested, no matter how hard you try.
