Getting up "earlier" this morning sure was a pain in the ass. I SO want to crawl back into bed.

Our clocks went forward last week-end.

Some of the world does DST, some doesn't.

The whole thing began in World War I as a way to save energy; personally, I don't see how, since I've had a feeling of euphoria all day.

we do it just in case there's anybody left out there whose life isn't complicated and annoying enough already.

My brother said that it was invented by Ben Franklin to help conserve candles, and something to do with farmers. I think that like, in this day and age, it's pointless, as we have electricity and all. I hate havin to adjust myself to a new time.

I don't know; it's a mixture of euphoria and dizziness, so it might be drugs. LOL But I don't remember taking drugs, and there's no reason to give a guy ketamine, so . . .

It was used during war time all right. But it was not used in the fifties. IT was brought back in either 1967 or 1968. The rationale was that it would give people more time to enjoy the outdoors during the summer before the sunlight was gone. And getting up early wouldn't hurt since it was daylight very early anyway.

I had just rather stay the same time year around. I don't like that first week of chagne twice a year.

As for farmers, they work their own time without regard to a clock.

hung_big: I really do hate daylight savings time in a way, but I also like it.

I hate it initially, because it fucks my entire phyche and body - in the last two days I've barely eaten, slept and I swear I have bipolar syndrome.

I like it in the long run, because it let's the hours work best in the summer. I love the long days that result in changing the time. I couldn't stand it if the sun set at around 7 or 8 during the summer. I like 9ish or later - which we tend to get.

That's just my opinion, but the longer the sunny day, the better it is (IMHO)!

Well, the dizzy, euphoric feeling's gone. Good thing too; now I can just enjoy the extra light. At least until daylight saving time ends and then they throw my biological clock on the floor again.

I like it, if for nothing else the change. My rather hum-drum life has to have changes for invigoration. One thing I like about Memphis is the speedy weather changes from day to day, to say nothing of changing seasons. Having the days of longer day light during the warm seasons are fucking exciting for me, too. :D
