Meeting People from LPSG

What I have found is that regardless of how much you e-mail, PM, or phone chat with someone, you find out a whole world of new things about that person when you meet him face to face.
That is what I was thinking...

I don't think anyone lives in my neck of the woods. LapDog is the closest in Boston and he's still 2 hours away. Plus, I don't think my husband would be too keen on me meeting another dude....even if it was just for coffee. Now girls on the other hand....

HI, I would love to meet folks from this site, eventually. At this time, I would feel much more comfortable about that than putting my picture up in the members area or gallery or attached to my messages. I love theme parks & yaoifun, I can never get enough of roller coasters, eps. the big-ass ones! We oculd start out w/ a small one :-)

Texass girl & Lapdog, sometimes i wish I still lived in New England, but where I am now, the robins are all over the yard & the pond frogs are singing their mating songs. Spring is coming & I love spring in the south!

THAT'S what I miss about the south. We won't see spring for another couple months. Our lake is still so frozen that you can drive trucks on it. Last year it didn't thaw out until mid-April. UGH!

You can't beat Springtime in the South...although Winter down here isn't too bad either...we had temps in the 60's and 70's well into January, then we finally got a blast of Winter weather. Overall this year has been pretty mild, we had one day of snow, it melted by the next day--accumulation was about 1/2". We've had a lot of rain, but it's never been really cold. I can't complain as it's already starting to warm up again, the daffodils and jonquils are starting to grow up in my yard, so I know the rest of the spring flowers are on their way, too.

Texie, Do you remember last year, when even the ocean froze? Now THAT was funny. And creepy in a way seeing a wave frozen in place...but still great! It would have been better had we gotten mroe snow though. I'm probably about 2 hours away from you too, too bad I'm a guy :P

Also it's not that I hate roller coasters beacause it's a roller coaster, I just hate that weird feeling you get in your stomach when going down real fast >< it's annoying! I can work my way up though!

I don't remember the ocean freezing, but I live near the Vermont border. We don't hear much about those people that live on the ocean. ha/ha But yes, last year was nearly brutal!

Yaoifun, it is exactly that feeling in my stomach that makes me love roller coastes. Same reason that I always wanted my Dad to drive really fast over bumps/humps in the road, too, when I was a child.

I have not met anyone from here; however, I would guess that we only expose a very small part of ourselves (pun intended) to each other.

Meeting another member (pun intended) would demonstrate that we may not really know each other at all because there is probably a lot more to each of us than just our posts here online.

I've met a couple of LPSGers in real life. One turned out to be a local, and after a couple of times hanging out, it just feels awkward and strange and I don't feel like we have much common ground -- other than posting here -- that would contribute toward a good friendship. On the other hand, it just so happened a member lives near some family I have in the Midwest, and I stayed with him for a few days over the Christmas break. I had a blast. He's a really cool guy that I admire quite a bit, and it's good that we keep in touch.

In the meantime, I made a separate group on my Yahoo Messenger for all my LPSG buddies I keep up with.

So, you never really know what to expect. Just come at a situation with an open mind and your wits ('cause you never know if a troll's behind the other side of the PC, you see) and you can really enjoy the people here for what they are worth.

I don't think anyone on here is from Nebraska, so not much of a chance of meeting anyone.

summer, I'll ride roller coasters with you anytime, I love em. A while back I actually thought about going into structural engineering so I could design them, but decided I didn't like structures so that fell through. Rollercoaster Tycoon, however, lets me kill hour off of my life making fake roller coasters at least. :)
