I'm just trying to understand. |
Spartacus takes place in about 70 BC. There were no Christians then. The largest group of monotheists were the Jews, who don't have any prominence in the series, if I'm not mistaken. And...I read books and enjoy Spartacus all at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive. I also feel I am a member of humanity. I think the gore and violence are cartoonish, but some of the dialogue is witty and it presents what I believe is an accurate portrayal of the Roman Empire of that era...before the Caesars. As to "horse cocks," prosthetics and the like...who really cares?
