You would think so, but there are some baseball players who don't wear one. (NL MVP candidate Adrian Beltre, for one.) And strangely, almost no NFL players wear a cup anymore. They consider it too restricting.

Having played baseball since I could lift a bat, I will tell you that most of the guys who wear cups while playing baseball are either catchers or infielders (those most in danger of getting hit by the abovementioned line drive). When I catch or play infield, I wear a cup. When I play outfield or pitch (high leg kick + endowments = loss of comfort and balance), I don't. I have no fear of getting hit in the crotch by a pitch while batting because the angle and the curve involved in making that happen would only occur if I faced Randy Johnson.

And if I do end up batting against Randy Johnson, I will wear a cup.

Either way, both Piazza and Anderson have gay rumors circulating about the Internet, with an appropriately placed "un uh" rebuttal respectively. As far as Brady goes, some of the rumor might be attributable to the Weber-style photos taken of him over the years. Yeah, he's got a pretty nice bod, but that's that.

Heh, gay or not, it wouldn't matter to me. Can't say I'm much of a baseball fan. Or a fan of any sport, s'truth. I would rather play than watch any day.
