I don't think they made you 'high out of your mind.'
Years ago, before they were considerably weakened, they would greatly increase one's sexual response for a few minutes. Many people used them to intensify orgasm.
But now they're so weak that I don't see the point.
And they're not good for the body ... so they
are self-destructive.
And I have to agree with you, Greek Dude, that sex shouldn't be self-destructive.
