I know of a lot more stories of women being brutally killed because someone didn't like that they were prostitutes than gay people. There are a few high profile cases of gays being killed. It's very upsetting to hear about them, but it in no way reflects the way hetero's as a whole feel about gay people anymore than how men feel about prostitutes.
