So, in order for a person to love America they also have to love its government even if it's the cause of the country's downward spiral? If that's the case, then there's more ex-patriots out there because the current approval rating of the current administration and Bush is very low. Around 28% as of April. Which means 72% of our current population should all be forced to move to Canada since, in your view, it's impossible to love a country without loving its government. That makes no sense.
Having love for something doesn't mean also having a blind eye to its flaws, despite learning to tolerate it to some degrees. There's plenty of things to love America and everyone knows this. That's why so many people come into this country but don't leave. However, one of the things not to love about America is about how the current people in charge are screwing things up. Criticizing your government does not make you a turncoat, nor is it grounds for excommunication. That is, unless, you feel it's OK if our country follows the scrpiture known as Lord Of The Flies.
