That's not necessarily true. California, although usually Democratic during the main elections, actually did go Republican in 1988 with George Bush. We can't just assume that Democratic states will always vote the same way. And if people on both sides of the issue are this divided between Obama & Hillary, then it could spell trouble for whoever wins the nomination.
