This is so true. The need to degrade women seems to come up often in porn - and I haven't even seen that much of it. I'm not a prude and I know role-playing is fun but I think there can be a carry-over effect in real life, on both men AND women.
Sexual behavior is not learned from parents, unlike almost all other behaviors. Young men whose first visual information about sex comes from porn (which is prolly most guys, from Playboy in the 1950s through internet porn today)
have to take some of that perspective into their own lives. Young women are then going out with these guys in high school and college and, in some cases, assuming what the guys want them to do is typical sexual interaction... and it's not.
I am in my early 30s but have younger women I work with who are the ones that made me aware of this... guys automatically expecting blowjobs at the end of a date in hs (forget that good-night kiss sh*t) and not even even offering any reciprocation sexually, wanting the girl to do a 3some or wanting to let a friend watch or video them, and accusing the girls of being uptight if they wouldn't go along. Those ideas are not lifted from porn themselves, but there seems to be a heightened sense of entitlement on the part of some of these guys that the girl is basically there to serve him sexually. I know this isn't all guys (or all girls) but I was really shocked to hear how often it occurred.
Don't get me wrong, I think porn can be hot. I just think a lot of what is made and distributed today is marketed toward the baser instincts
some men have about controlling/dominating, even disrespecting women. That is not a consistent thread throughout the history of porn, but since the 1990s maybe? I think the explosion of porn via the internet maybe aided that, but will leave it to the psychologists/sociologists to figure out if there was a bigger issue going on in society that caused it.
P.S. MRouge, I thought sluts gave it away for free and whores charged for it... if that helps.
