Confidence does come from within, though. If you feel secure about your looks and believe that you're a good guy who would make a woman happy in dating or in sex, it couldn't hurt to get out on the market. If you're not quite there yet, that's okay. Even if a girl you see seems "too hot" for your taste, you'll never know unless you say hi. (And if some girl doesn't even respond to that bit of politeness, placing a nice "Fuck you too." does wonders at building up self-esteem. )

You don't have to hit up bars for a one-night-stand. I'm all for a little Liquid Courage at times, but you can just hang out and have fun somewhere, and maybe luck out meeting a girl into some of the stuff you like. Try looking up interesting cultural events or hang-out spots in your area.
