I can't imagine why anyone would describe him as "ugly" -- he's tall, very athletic, and I'd consider him quite attractive even before he pulled his shorts down!

Wade himself has never made the 14" claim as far as I know. We once exchanged a few messages and he told me about 9.5. I would say that in that video he has pumped it up a little cos I have seen other pics where it's not as fat as that.
