Wow,

Just got back from a ladies retreat this weekend and I see this post has been all switched around.

The reason I responded to your post the way I did earlier when I assumed it was discrimination towards women is because I am in the South.....and there is and always has been a good ole boy's society down here.....although it may not be as strong as it has been in the past. Promoting men before women has always been the way it has always been down here. Men are seen as the bread winners for the family......and anything women make is gravy. Although in my adult lifetime I have seen more changes......more affirmative action and such. And companies trying to do the right thing.

I am curious about the department store you work for. It must have a mission statement to help and promote women. Where do you work? Lane Bryant? Mary Kay Cosmetics?

If I were you (a male) I don't think I would feel comfortable working in the environment that you describe. And you have the same choices if it was reversed like you described in the beginning. Complain......get the men to band together and file a harrassment suit. Nobody should have to endure being threatened with physical harm. (kicked in the balls etc)
