If anything, you should trim the hair inside of your buttcrack simply for hygienic reasons; shitlocks are NOT a turn on, I don't care who you are. I use an electric trimmer on most of my body hair, and this way I hardly - if ever - get any knicks or cuts, and the results look very clean.
