So, the moral of the story: Obama cares nothing about the democracy of Florida and Michigan because that's the rules, but BE DAMNED if someone else want to play by the letter of the rules.
That's incorrect.

Michigan state primary
laws stopped a re-vote, not Obama's group. The ACLU argued in front of a federal judge that the [Michigan] law's provision giving the list of voters' partisan preference only to the Democratic and Republican parties violated the rights of other parties. The judge ruled in favor of the ACLU, Michigan's primary law was unconstitutional and illegal.

"Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Mark Brewer said the ruling may have ended any chances of a new Democratic election to resolve the ongoing dispute over the state's delegation to the Democratic National Convention. The state [democratic] party, needs the list to ensure that no one who voted in the Republican primary in January votes in any new Democratic contest, as required under the national party's rules." Michigan was an open primary - voters did not have to vote with their affiliated democratic or republican party on Jan. 15th.

"If the Michigan Democratic Party cannot get the (voter) lists, then our friends at the ACLU may have driven the final nail in the coffin of any re-vote in Michigan," Brewer said.

A federal judge and the Michigan Democratic party chairman are saying state primary laws MUST comply with the national DNC laws.
