The party delegates awarded from the caucuses aren't official until the Texas state convention is held on June 6th & 7th. The caucuses (technically called precinct conventions) that were held on the same day as the primary election was the first step in the process. The county party conventions this weekend are the next step...this Saturday, delegates from each precinct will caucus again, and will select delegates to go on to the state convention in June. From that meeting, Texas will select 67 delegates to attend the Democratic National Convention in Denver along with the 126 delegates chosen by the primary election. |
