I totally understand that situation Prepstud, and I feel the same way entirely. I think I would die if somebody in my social circle or family would find out, and the trouble not to oversee. I hesitated long to put up a picture in my avatar, but, I need a microscope to see it, so it works. It is all a risk perhaps, but, the discussions here are important to me, and helpfull, so i'll take my chances.

If a friend of mine stumbled onto the site I don't think it would be too hard for to recognise me from reading what I have written previously.

Longtime-
Yes, it's true, a very close friend would probably know writing style, opinions, etc., but you could always play dumb and deny it. This is a big world, albeit intimate with modern tools of communication, but there are bound to be a few other people with similar styles of verbage and similar opinions, so as long as your real name is not in your screen name, you could probably get around them knowing.

| | | inquiringmind: Hi Long Lurker and Prep stud,
Let's say one of your friends actually did recognize your unique style of expression... If they chose to "out" you , wouldn't they be outing themsleves at the same time? Sort of like "the pot calling the kettle black" don't you think?

Hmm, I'd like to think that the people that I associate with would prefer to just ask me in private to confirm, rather than broadcasting to all and sundry.
But then, you never know what's gonna happen when the booze starts to flow ;)

i can honestly say i wouldnt care if someone here turned out to know me or whatever or even if i posted my pic. (uh my face that is... ;)) except that i worry about creepy guys, ya know the type...
i wouldnt think any less of anyone here if i met them in real life. i mean were all just people, so its no big deal to me. 8) i would not want someone to be uncomfortable around me personally or using the site, if we did know eachother. id just keep it light....and be sweet... :-*

| | | SpeedoGuy: No one knows. Some of my friends would be surprised to learn I post here but others wouldn't. That's part of the fun of this. LPSG allows SpeedoGuy to assume his online alter-ego.
Cheers to all the other phantoms here.
