I will assume that you are a shower and not a grower if people in the gym are complimenting you on the size of your penis. If you were a grower you would not receive these compliments unless you were erect in the locker room. There are larger penises than yours that don't show as well as yours when flaccid and there is a high probability that some of these men feel inadequate with their flaccid size. Be happy with what you have and learn to humbly accept the odd compliment.
I am about 7" x 6.25" and always thought I was average because while there were showers in the locker room, there were a lot of growers. We didn't compare hard ons in the 60's, at least in the junior and senior high schools I went to, even though it was San Jose, California.
