Animals and all hominid ancestors dont have in their minds the concept of god and gods. They just limit themselfs to exist and surviving. The concept of god and gods , life after death came with the arrival of homosapiens. When early homosapiens have the awareness of their mortality and others .

So those beliefs were invented only because a physiological necessity.

the names and faces we ascribe to God are human constructs, and the mythologies we construct around Him. but God Himself is not. and how do you KNOW animals and our evolutionary predecessors have/had no concept of God? i'm not saying they did, but there's no way to be sure because we can't communicate with them or read their minds.
but clearly I believe in God and you don't, which is moot to the discussion at hand which is what questions would you ask of God whether he exists or not. debating His existence is a derailment of that discussion.
