If you really want to prove your independence from your parents, you absolutely cannot go back with your tail between your legs asking to borrow the car! You are beginning to experience the problems of the working class my dear Goodwood. This kind of thing happened to me before and it was a God-send though I did not see it at the time. My husband and I were seperating and so I needed to find a job pronto which I did. I was to work as an orthodontic chairside assistant to be trained on the job...I couldn't believe my luck because they are hard to find. Anyway...long story short...My first day on the job I was late due to being issued a speeding ticket...that same day, I left on my lunch hour to a deli about a 10 minute drive...my battery died in my car. Of course since I didn't expect that to happen I didn't count on being late back to work because of the 30 minute walk. When I got there and explained, there response was why didn't I call...well, back in the stone ages we didn't have cell phones and his office had the answering machine on...the kind that only takes emergencies. Also that day I was feeling not quite myself...kind of shakey, sweaty, weak...I thought it was nerves until about 4 pm when I knew I had a fever and went to the bathroom only to throw up my lunch. Seems it was the flu and I was told not to bother to come back...Anyway, it turned out to be best for me because of some other things going on in my life at the time ( a friend was murdered and dismembered). I certainly hope your first day goes better for you, but if by any chance you should have one like mine, just try to remember that there may be something else for you... |
