Is this turning into a serious discussion of having an official lpsg meet?

| | | Javierdude22: It could be very cool indeed, but i can undertand Dirk's bug.
Me personally, i think bilateral meetings are best. Hell, i even have trouble getting a trip to anywhere with my own frineds together, let alone with so many people, from a lotta places, that you don't fully know yet.
So i think that if you really wanna talk or whatever with someone, it's best to organise is amongst yourselves.
But of course...most will be organised in the US...oh well, i'm there now and then.

Hmmm....

The wife and I are going to travel to milwaukee via portland and the northern part of the USA this summer. let me know if this is cool with any of you.
I have a thread in the personals asking for help in recommending motels etc.

[/quote]
From my own experience meeting guys from the web, I use a 4 step program.
01. exchange emails and if all looks good, than exchange fone numbers.
02. exchange personal fotos via snail mail or email.
03. met at a place away from your home. ex: coffee shop.
04. have a get-a-way plan ready. ex: "It was great to meet you, but I have a appointment I need to make in 1/2 hour. Thanks again! Cheers!!"
I did meet my 1st BF on gay.com, so meeting guys from the web does work!
Best of luck! 8) - dag | | | |

| | | SchroederJr: Well, I've only met a few people that I first met online. As far as I know, the only person I'm even close to is DMW (who's in Nola, right?). And at the end of next month I'll be in central Texas, far away from almost all of ya'll. Though I can't say I'd totally object to grabbing a meal with some of yous guyses. It'd be kinda neat...I guess.
Okay, I'll shut up now. | | | |

Actually, I don't. :P
Well, I wouldn't mind meeting some of you guys, I suppose it's only the Bristish ones, but finances are short at the mo, but it'd be cool I think, I've met quite a lot of people online that way and they're genuinely nice people.
BTW, Bb, you're in London???! When!

So it's better if I dont meet anybody from here ;)

| | | 7x6andchg: Well I have met someone in person from the board now...and made a wonderful new friend. IRL is different and, in my opinion, better.
I think breaking the veil of anonymity of the internet with someone you have learned quite a bit about is a good thing.

| | | longtimelurker: I think I'm having one of those S-L-O-W days - after my 3rd look at this thread I've finally realised what IRL stands for - doh! (I'm embarrassed to say that I thought it was something to do with Ireland originally! :-[)
If I was to meet up with someone it would have to be someone that I felt that I struck a good online rapport with - pref. with a good bit of IM'ing as well. I wouldn't want to meet with someone just because they post here.
