Tattoos & Scripture

I'm thinking about getting a bible verse tattooed on my left arm. But I don't know what I'm going to get. Does anybody else here have any religious tattoo's. From any religion. Christianity, Islam, Buddism

is part of a discussion in the Relationships, Discrimination, and Jealousy forum that includes topics on Friends, family, co-workers, significant others....

Christianity, Islam, Buddism whether you practice said religion or not. I'm non-religious but still there are words of wisdom everywhere you look. What do you guys have? And what would you suggest?

LMAO! Kiki! ;>

Seriously, I'd take the hesitancy and indiciveness as a hint, before you're body's permanently etched with something you don't gel with 100%...

If you're not very religiously inclined, put something else that may vibe w/ your own particular uniqueness... perhaps an icon or symbol? Perhaps a scorpio glyph (or scorpion) since your a Scorpio? How about an Asian Kanji character word (love, peace, strength, balance, abundance... etc) -
they're decorative and meaningful too - and most any personality can get behind that!

Have fun w/ whatever route you choose!

All the best!

What theme do you want to address in the tat?
There is such a great variety in scripture, or even poetry, Invictus comes to mind for strength [minstrels] Invictus -- William Ernest Henley, that identifying a theme helps greatly in a search.

God luck! :)

If you can't decide what scripture, perhaps you shouldn't be getting a tattoo.

I know someone who has "Be still and know that I am God" in Hebrew around his arm.

Yes, listen to this woman. The only time she leaves her computer is to go to church.

To agree with what everyone else is saying... only get something that truly has a meaning to you and will bring inspiration. Otherwise, don't get it. Just because it's a religions symbol/meaning doesn't automatically imply your liking it.

I have an orthodox cross on my back, right on my shoulder blade.

Choose what is in your heart. But choose what is going to age well and won't change with weight changes.

Why not:
LEVITICUS 19:28
"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you..."

OKAY! just trying to stir things up a bit.

I think having a passage from anything tattoo'd on your body is disturbing, especially the bible. What a way to turn people off from sex.. have a bible verse on your body.

Hmm, as a Christian (though admittedly not a good one ) I never considered that possibility. Hmm, given the importance of religion and spirituality in the lives of many people I guess it's a good thing to put that out there in tattoo form. That way you don't attract the wrong type of person.
