In the "definitive penis size" survey site it shows that about 40% of males are close to 7 inches or larger which could be considered large.
A conclusion would be that the 50-60% that are unhappy are actually the one's with the smaller penises.
In other words, those that are unhappy with the size of their penis are the ones with the smaller penises. Those that are satisfied actually have large penises.
This logic pooh poohs those that say that "small penis syndrome" is based on inaccurate information. |
Interesting thought.
Could be.
There are some issues with the definitive penis size survey.
Although, I agree, it was pretty cool when it came out.
When was there stuff like that before the internet?
To see if your theory was valid, you would have to compare reported satisfaction to reported size by participant. That is to say, you'd have to set up a survey that could keep track and cross reference particpants responses like that. You couldn't do it on LPSG. I know some of this kind of thing was done on the definitive penis size survey. I believe they investigated possible correlations between penis size and shoe size, etc.
It is important to remember though in any case, that correlations do not necesarily indicate causal relationships.
On a final note on this topic, it makes sense. We tend to make a pretty big deal about penis size. If you have a big one, you might be likely to be confident and happy about yours size. On the other hand the reverse may be true.
Another interesting study would be
perceived penis size, against reported contentment, against actual size compared to average percentiles.
So, if guys who thought they were big, were happy, and whether they actually were big....and perhaps even more so, if guys who thought they were small were unhappy, and if they are "small" after all. This kind of survey I believe would have to be conducted with actual medically supervised standard measurments as opposed to self reporting to have any merit.
And lastly, yes, what the last poster said was true. In large part, penis size preferences are culturally determined, and vary greatly over time and among different groups. These preferences are internalized and effect an individuals self perception and internalized social rank. The same may be said to be true for perceptions of weight, height, aspects of beauty or style and race/ethnicity.
However, in the case of penis size, there may be some basic biology at work. It may be that yes women (and/or men) prefer a larger penis, or that
some of them do.
